Sermon:

Christ's Trial and Ours

Preached at: Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church
Date: March 16, 1997
There is something strangely fascinating about a criminal trial, especially when someone’s life hangs precariously in the balance, as the fact of millions of Americans who watch court trials on TV. And though, no doubt, millions see these trials, I have little doubt that a hundred years from now these cases will be virtually forgotten. However, a trial of vastly greater proportions and infinitely greater significance which will never be forgotten took place 2,000 years ago, and that is the trial of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It is, I’m afraid, a sad fact, however, that there are many Americans today in this secular age who are probably more familiar with the details of the trial of, say O. J. Simpson, than the trial of Christ. Dr. Kennedy sets out to bring together the four accounts from the four Gospels and weaving them into a single tapestry to get the full impact of what happened.
